The two-year MBA Program offers a radically different learning experience for prospective managers of the new century. The newly designed and highly flexible curriculum integrates the latest developments in management, business practice and allows unlimited opportunities for self-directed learning.  


The Management Curriculum is designed to achieve the following three objectives: 

  • Building a strong foundation in all the key functional areas of business
  • Fostering strong analytical and decision making skills
  • Providing academic flexibility to promote the customization and personalization of knowledge.

The MBA curriculum consists of three different components - Core courses, Elective streams and Field experience in the form of study tours and On-Job-Training (OJT). Each component reinforces learning from the other, thereby fortifying the education process. The core and elective courses are delivered over 8 terms of 11 weeks each including on the Job Training (OJT) in the fourth term. There are 19 core courses in the first year and 4 core courses as well as 14 elective courses in the second year covering seven functional areas. Every student has to complete any 14 courses out of nearly 52 electives offered in the functional areas.  

The core courses in the first year establish a strong foundation in major functions of business viz. business environment, marketing, finance, human resources, communication, IT, operations and strategy. This input helps students to acquire basic analytical, quantitative and communication skills and builds their confidence to undertake advance courses during the second year.  

On-Job-Training (OJT) before the end of the first year consolidates the classroom learning. The elective streams during the second year offers opportunity for specialization in major functional areas of management thus adding greater depth to the learning acquired during the first year.  

The last four terms comprise of the specialization phase where the students can choose from an array of horizontals and verticals offered. Students can select from 52 elective courses in three major and four minor areas of specialization. Each student is required to opt for two horizontals—one major and one minor, from the following areas: 

  1. Human Resource Management
  2. Marketing Management
  3. Financial Management
  4. Information Technology Management
  5. Operation Management & Decision Sciences
  6. Business Environment
  7. General Management
  8. Technology and Quality Management


Academic rigor has a strong influence on the schools culture. Students are expected to demonstrate high discipline in and outside the classroom. Attendance in classes is compulsory throughout the programme.
